Origin/meaning

The gold of the main field indicates faith and light to illuminate and guide the life and action of the Bishop. The lyre indicates the union and harmony of all the components of the Church under the pastoral guidance of the Bishop.

The chief is blue to symbolize protection from above, under the maternal guidance of the Blessed Virgin (represented by the gold star, recalling the Cathedral of Udine church, dedicated to SM Annunziata, of which Msgr. Soravito was parish priest) and with the grace received and ensured in the Episcopal Ordination (symbolized by the miter and the pastoral care, evocation of the patron of the diocese S. Bellino, bishop and martyr), with the mandate to evangelize the people.

The motto GAUDETE IN DOMINO SEMPER ("Always rejoice in the Lord", Pli 4, 4-9) represents the greeting that the Bishop wishes to address to all his faithful, with the wish to always live in joy in the grace of the Lord.
