Origin/meaning

The first and fourth quarters are the arms of the Turpin family, lords of Artins from the eleventh century. The 2nd and 3rd quarters are the arms of the Loges family who possessed the lordship of Artins between 1458 and 1605. The silver cross is the cross of the Knights of St John of Jerusalem who had in Artins one of their a major Commanderies of Central France.
