Origin/meaning

The division, the three stars and the three castles all refer to the three villages and parishes in the municipality, all of which had once a castle. The middle part shows a crosier for the monastery founded around 1000 years ago in the present municipality by Count Boson the Elder of the Périgord. On the crosier the tower of the church of St. Sylvain, which is left from the monastery.
