Red and black are the colors of Central High School.  The shield represents strength, courage and protection as the ideals of the cadets.  The arrow symbolizes the desire to set a true path through life, and signifies the cadets’ desire to always reach for the highest standards.  The lamp of knowledge alludes to education through which their goals can be obtained. The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 10 February 1999.
