The Bird Bolts symbolises the Anti Aircraft Co-operation role. The Vampire Bats symbolises that the Squadron was the first of its kind to be equiped with the D.H. Vampire Aircraft. The Motto translates as ”Servants of the gun”. The Badge was approved in March 1949.
