| English | Shoulder Sleeve Insignia. Description: On a buff horseshoe shape 3 5/16 inches (8.41 cm) in height edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) brown border, the stylized head of a cowboy. The cowboy’s face is buff, hat, jacket and shaded areas appear brown with the inscription “WEST HIGH SCHOOL” in brown lettering arched above the cowboy’s head.
Shoulder Loop Insignia. Description: A gold color metal and enamel horseshoe shaped device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a cowboy riding a bucking bronco horse within a background of rays. Attached around the top and sides of the cowboy and horse, a brown horseshoe shaped scroll inscribed “WISDOM HONESTY SINCERITY” in gold letters. |
Origin/meaning
Buff and brown are the school colors. The cowboy is the school mascot. The Shoulder Sleeve Insignia and the Shoulder Loop Insignia was both approved 19 November 2002.
