Origin/meaning :
The arms were officially granted on September 3, 1974.

The lion is derived from the arms of the COunts of Görz, as the area historically was part of the county.
The lower part symbolises the Hienfels castle, a typical landmark in the municipality.

Literature : Köfler and Beimrohr, 1995
