Origin/meaning

Crimson and yellow are the colours of the Ordnance Corps. The saltire alludes to the Roman Numeral X = 10, and thus to the Battalion's number. The atom symbol, wrench and electric bolts , indicate the Battalion's mechanical, nuclear and electrical support mission. The fleur-de-lis symbolizes the unit's European World War II Campaign honours. The Coat of Arms and Distinctive Unit Insignia was approved on 9 November 1954.
