Distinctive Unit Insignia. Description: A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of three billows of white smoke issuing upwards and behind a gold retort half filled with a “liquid” of cobalt blue within and surmounting a gold benzene ring, all above a blue scroll bearing the inscription “RESOLUTE AND LOYAL” in gold letters.

Cobalt blue and yellow (gold) are the colors used for Chemical organizations.
