Origin/meaning

The Coat of Arms was orginally aproved for the 15th Tank Battalion , part of which was in the old 304th Tank Brigade. Therefore the shield and crest of the 304th Brigade is used with the addition of a label. The Shield alludes to the Shoulder Sleeve Insignia of Armoured Troops, the inescutcheon is a differented version of the French City of Langres, where the Brigade was organized in 1918. The Wyvern are from the Insignia of the French Tank Corps. The Tree alludes to action in the Meuse-Argonne Region. Grant of Arms given 1 September 1983.
