Redesignated as: 9 Air Support Communication Squadron on 11 Jan 1943; 9 Air Support Control Squadron on 20 Aug 1943; 9 Tactical Air Communications Squadron on 1 Apr 1944. Inactivated on 28 Nov 1945. Disbanded on 8 Oct 1948. Reconstituted, and redesignated as 9 Air Support Operations Squadron, on 24 Jun 1994. Activated on 1 Jul 1994.
