  • Wapen: In silwer, 'n rooi kruis en op 'n gekanteelde skildhoof van blou 'n gestingelde en geblaarde dissel vergesel regs van 'n uitgerukte prei en links van 'n gestingelde klawerblad, alles goud.
  • Helmteken: 'n Oosterse kroon met 'n uitkomende herkruiste kruis met spits voet voor twee skuinsgekruiste pyle, alles van goud.
  • Wrong en dekklede: Silwer en blou.
  • Skildhouers: Regs 'n luiperd van natuurlike kleur, op die skouer met 'n rooi skulp belaai, en links 'n koedoe, op die skouer met 'n gestingelde en geblaarde proteablom belaai, albei van natuurlike kleur.
  • Spesiale kompartement: 'n Voorstelling van die suurveld van die Albanygebied.
  • Wapenspreuk: TAKE ROOT OR DIE

  • Arms: Argent, a cross Gules, on a chief embattled Azure a thistle slipped and leaved between dexter a leek eradicated and sinister a leaf of shamrock slipped, Or.

Origin/meaning

Arms granted on April 4, 1976.

The main features alludes to the fact that this was the place where most of the British settlers who went to South Africa in 1820 settled. Also the motto refers to this fact.
