Blue, white and red are the official colours of Acadia. The drum symbolizes Jacques Léger dit Larosette who arrived in Acadia as a drummer in the Villieu Company of the Compagnies franches de la Marine. The couple Jacques Léger / Madeleine Trahan had eleven children, represented by the orle of eleven roses. The star is the main symbol of Acadia.

LEGI PATRUM FIDELIS, meaning “Faithful to the law of our forefathers”, refers to the mission of the Association des Léger, which is to promote the cultural heritage, the patrimony and the genealogy of the descendants of Jacques Léger dit Larosette and Jean Léger dit Richelieu.
