English Shoulder Sleeve Insignia. Description: On a maroon shield edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) yellow border 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height overall a green alligator with yellow belly and tongue and white highlights, entwining a yellow torch.

Shoulder Loop Insignia. Description: A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in width consisting of a white demi-disc surrounded by a maroon band inscribed “BAKER HIGH SCHOOL” in gold letters, surmounted in base by a gold disc on a white triangle. Below the triangle the green half-submerged head of an alligator above a maroon scroll inscribed “GATORS” in gold letters.

Origin/meaning

Shoulder Sleeve Insignia: Maroon, white and gold (yellow) are the school colors. The alligator is the school mascot. The alligator entwines a torch of knowledge reflecting the cadets’ pride and dedication to their school, community, and country.

Shoulder Loop Insignia: Maroon, white and gold (yellow) are the school colors. The gold disc alludes to the school’s home state, Florida, the “Sunshine State”. The alligator is the school mascot. The triangle denotes the cadets’ involvement in school, community, and country.

The Shoulder Sleeve Insignia and the Shoulder Loop Insignia was both approved on 27 February 1995.
