BASTOS

State : São Paulo

Arms (crest) of Bastos

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on April 11, 1978.

The golden field indicates the wealth of the city. The cock's head symbolises the poultry farming in the area. The cord in the bordure symbolises St. Francis, patron saint of the city.

The shield is surrounded by mulberry (with silk worm cocoons) and coffee branches, the main agricultural crops in the area.
