Origin/meaning

The blue color is the color of the sky and represents Eternity, while gold represents the Faith among the Theological Virtues.

The eight-pointed star, together with the blue of the background, represents the Marian reference and inspiration of the spirituality of Msgr. Maniago.

The winged hand holding the crosier, depicted under the star, indicates the mission of shepherd that has been entrusted to the Bishop by the Lord; it also refers to his motto “ In manus Tuas” (in your hands): Aware of his own littleness, he entrusts himself to God to hold him in his hand and lead him on the path entrusted to him.
