Blason de Dauphiné/Arms (crest) of Dauphiné

French Écartelé: aux 1er et 4e d'azur à trois fleurs de lis d'or, aux 2e et 3e d'or dauphin d'azur, barbé, crêté, lorré, oreillé et peautré de gueules.
English Quarterly, in first and fourth quarters azure three fleur-de-lys or, in second and third quarters or a dolphin azure with fins gules.


The arms are a combination of a canting (heraldic) dolphin and the Royal arms of France. The heir apparent to the French throne bore the title of Dauphine.
