The stripes are taken from the arms of the Augustinian canons who served in [[Šternberk]] in 1371–1784. The star is taken from the arms of Albrecht von Sternberg, the [[Diocese of Litomyšl|Bishop of Litomyšl]] 1371–1380, and also a symbol of the Virgin Mary, the patron of the deacon's church.
