DECANATE OF ZÁBŘEH

Diocese: Olomouc
Denomination : Roman Catholic

Arms (crest) of Decanate of Zábřeh

Official blazon

Štít kosmo černo-červeně dělený, v něm heroltský kříž na černém zlatý a na červeném stříbrný. Ve druhé čtvrti štítu zlaté gotické písmeno M pod zlatou korunkou se dvěma splývajícími zlatými stužkami.

Origin/meaning

Half of the decanate used to fall beneath the Diocese of Litomyšl until the 16th century which is referenced by the golden cross on black. The red-silver part meanwhile references the arms of the arms of the Archdiocese of Olomouc beneath which the decanate now falls. The crowned < is a symbol of the Virgin Mary, which is reminiscent of local defunct monasteries of Corona Mariae near Třebařov and Cella Janua Vitae S. Mariae near Krasíkov
