Wappen von Dudeldorf/Arms (crest) of Dudeldorf
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms probably show the lion of Bohemia, as the town got city rights in 1345 from King John of Bohemia, as Count of Luxemburg. The area was in those days a possession of the counts of Luxemburg. The arms never changed since. The lion has been described as the lion of Luxembourg, but this lion is striped, whereas the colours are in agreement of the lion of Bohemia.

The lion was also used by the Lords of Dudeldorf, but it is not clear whether these are derived from the arms of the town or vice versa.
