Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on May 13, 1968 to the Escourt municipality.

Estcourt lies at the confluence of the Bushmans and the Little Bushmans rivers. The bushman's bow and arrow and the two wavy blue lines almost certainly allude to this fact.

The wheel probably alludes to the industry at Estcourt which, in 1968, included a hardboard factory (Masonite), a sausage and meat-processing factory (Eskort) and a milk procesing factory (Nestle). The wheat sheafs almost certainly allude to the agricultural activity in the surrounding area.
