Region : Catalonia
Province : Lleida

Escudo de Esterri de Aneu/Arms (crest) of Esterri de Aneu
Official blazon
Catalan Escut caironat: d'argent, una vall de sinople carregada de 3 palles d'or posades en banda i sobremuntada d'una creu de sant Pere de sable. Per timbre, una corona mural de vila.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on February 21, 1987.

Esterri is the centre of the Vall d'Àneu; the arms show this valley, with the canting golden straws ("palles" in Catalan) of the counts of Pallars, because the town was a dependency of the county. The black cross is the traditional sign of Esterri, and it's the symbol of St. Peter, the local patron saint.
