Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on February 9, 1932.

The combination of the deer antler and acorn is first known from 1611, on a decorative plate made for the village. It is also used in the Roll of Arms of Konrad Meyer from 1674 and the local church bell from 1703. Although the combination is the same, the position of the two elements differed.

In the 19^th century, however, the arms only showed an acorn and branch. The acorn was probably first used as a village symbol in the early 17^th century. The meaning is not known.

The antler is taken from the arms of the Lords of Hirzeren, who had their castle near the village. The antler is a canting element (Hirzeren, from Hirsch, meaning deer).
