GREGORY CAMERON

Born: June 6, 1959 in Wales
Deceased:

Bishop of St. Asaph, 2009-present

Arms (crest) of Gregory Cameron
Official blazon
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on 25th December, 1996.

As common in UK episcopal heraldry, the arms show the arms of the diocese impaled with the personal arms of the bishop.

The divided field and the two fleurs de lys are taken from the ancient arms of the county of his birth, Monmouthshire/Gwent, while the cross represents his Christian faith. The three bars in base appear in the arms of Clan Cameron, to which the bishop has an affiliation.

Literature: Information obtained from the bishop.
