Origin/meaning

The central device is taken from the coat of arms of the father of Queen Charlotte (wife of King George III), the Duke of Mecklenburg. HMCS Queen Charlotte was named after a Provincial Marine Corvette of the same name built at Amherstburg in 1809 for service on Lake Erie.

The Blazon of the badge was confirmed by The Canadian Heraldic Authority on January 15, 2009. The Motto was confirmed by the Canadian Heraldic Authority on January 20, 2012.
