Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on December 18, 1954 and again with different colours on December 21, 1955.

Both the hammer and the pliers were already used on the seal of the parish, known since 1656. The blue and silver are taken from the arms of Medelpad.

The arms were changed in 1955 when a coloured image from 1675 was found, with a non-divided shield and differently shaped hammer. The arms were thus changed accordingly.
