Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on September 5, 2006.

The lower half shows the Chapel of the Holy Grave in the Stift monastery in Heiligengrabe. The name also means Holy Grave and thus the chapel is thus both a local monument as well as a canting element. Th window shows the arms of the Kingdom of Jerusalem.

The upper half shows a prehistoric grave (another canting element), symbolising the many graves found in the region. The hammer and axe indicate forestry and the timber industry. The green field symbolises nature and agriculture.
