Official blazon
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on April 29, 1818 and confirmed with a better blazon on September 1st, 1932.

The original description from 1818 did not specify the colours of the beak and legs of the dove, and the terrace was not described, but present on the original diploma. These were corrected in 1932.

The meaning of the dove is not known. There are no historical seals known from the local council. The dove is probably chosen in 1813 (when the council applied for the arms) as a symbol of peace, which is emphasised by the olive branch in its beak.
