State : Niedersachsen
District (Kreis) : Harburg
Incorporated into: 1972 Seevetal

Wappen von Holtorfsloh/Arms (crest) of Holtorfsloh
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms are a modern design and have never been used by the municipality. The arms thus are used as village arms.

The windmill refers to the historical windmills and the modern industry, and is based on an industrial monument in the village. The wavy bar refers to the water, pumped by the windmills, and the Seeve river. The blue refers to the never ending sky, the green to nature.

The goose refers to the local habit to exchange of food after the Second World War. The goose was traded with the neighbouring village of Ramelsloh and was saved from being eaten, as she produced a lot of eggs. She laid her last egg 37 years after the trade and died in 1986 at the age of 40.
