Official blazon

El Municipio contará con un escudo oficial que tendrá las siguientes características: Está formado por un rectángulo vertical con un ápice al calce dividido a su vez, en cuatro ángulos enmarcado en color amarillo. En el ángulo inferior izquierdo se representa la llegada de los misioneros a tierras sudcalifornianas, habitadas por grupos indígenas Pericúes en el año 1730, significando el antecedente histórico de fundación de muchos pueblos de la región; en el inferior derecho se observan las actividades económicas del municipio a partir de 1980 cuando se erige como tal; en el superior izquierdo se refleja el impulso que se ha dado al desarrollo de los valores culturales y cívicos en el municipio representado por el Cerro de la Bandera en la Subdelegación de Buena Vista y en el superior derecho se representa la defensa de la zona de Los Cabos por el Teniente de Marina José Antonio Mijares en contra de la invasión norteamericana. Al centro del escudo, en un círculo, se ubica el famoso Arco de Cabo San Lucas reflejando los rayos del sol, que ha dado fama e impulso turístico al Municipio de Los Cabos, B.C.S.

Origin/meaning

This logo was adopted in 1980.

The first quarter reflects the impulse that has been given to the development of cultural and civic values ​​is reflected in the municipality represented by the Cerro de la Bandera in the Subdelegation of Buena Vista and the second quarter represents the defense of the area of ​​Los Cabos by Marine Lieutenant José Antonio Mijares against the North American invasion.

The third quarter symbolises the arrival of the missionaries in South Californian lands, inhabited by Pericúes indigenous groups in the year 1730, and represents the historical background of the foundation of many towns of the region. The fourth quarter symbolises the economic activities in 1980, which resulted in an independent municipality of Los Cabos.

At the center of the shield, in a circle, the famous Cabo San Lucas Arch is located, reflecting the sun's rays, which has given fame and tourist impulse to the Municipality of Los Cabos.
