Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted in 1901.

The arms show a crescent moon, which is the local village sign. Its meaning is not clear, but it already appeared on the oldest known 16^th century seal of the village. The colours were taken from the arms of the Lords Von Gemmingen-Hornberg, who rule dthe village from 1508-1806.
