NO 237 OPERATIONAL CONVERSION UNIT, ROYAL AIR FORCE

History: Formed July 31, 1947, disbanded December 1, 1951. Reformed October 23, 1956 and again disbanded January 21, 1953. The Unit was again reformed March 1, 1971.

Badge: In front of two cutlasses argent hilted gules guarded Or in saltire points upwards a mortar board sable.
Motto: Panache et precision

Origin/meaning

The Cutlasses symbolises the Buccaneer Aircraft used by the Unit. The Mortar Board symbolises the role of training Pilots. The Motto translates as "Panache and precision". The Badge was granted in July 1972.
