NO 794 SQUADRON, FAA

History: First formed in 1940 at Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton, perfroming Target Towing until disbanded in 1944. Reformed in 1945 at Royal Naval Air Station St Merryn.

Motto: Fungar vice cotis

Origin/meaning

The badge was approved on 15 January 1945 when the Squadron was the School of Air Firing. Indicated by the Lion holding a Target. The Latin Motto translates as "I will do duty as a whetstone".
