NO 826 SQUADRON, FAA

History: First formed in 1940 at Royal Naval Air Station Ford (HMS Peregrine), West Sussex as a Torpedo-Spotter Squadron. Become in 1951 No 881 Squadron, Royal Canadian Navy. Then reformed the same year at Royal Naval Air Station Ford disbanded 1955 with Fairey Firefly. Finally reformed at Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose (HMS Seahawk) 1970 with Sea King Helicopters until disbanded in 1993.

English Blue; a seahorse white armed and langued red grasping a trident point downward in base gold.

Motto: Latet anguis in aqua.

Origin/meaning

The Badge was approved in 1952. The Latin Motto translates as "A snake lies concealed in the water".
