NO 8 GROUP HEADQUARTERS, ROYAL AIR FORCE

History: Formed at Brampton 1 September 1941. The Unit was also known as Headquarters Pathfinder Force, and No 8 (PFF) Group.

English A mullet of eight points surmounted by an arrow enflamed point downwards in bend sinister.

Motto: We guide to strike.

Origin/meaning

The Star symbolises the Number of the Group and the Astro-Navigation undertaken by its Navigators. The Flaming Arrow symbolises the Pathfinder Force which the Group controlled. The Badge was approved in March 1955.
