Created in 1908 from North of Scotland Bank and Town and County Bank
Incorporated into : 1950 Clydesdale and North of Scotland Bank
Official blazon
Quarterly: 1 and 4 chequy or and azure, a saltire between three towers triple-towered, one in chief and two in flanks argent, masoned sable; 2 and 1 gules, a bezant between two towers triple-towered argent, masoned as before in chief and a garb or in base. And on an escrol above the shield this Mo-" Ne nimium "; and on a compartment below the shield bearing this Motto-" Fide et Industria," are set for Supporters - On the dexter a leopard and on the sinister a stag, both proper.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on May 20, 1908.
The arms are a combination of the arms of the two former banks, with as supporters a lion for the city of Aberdeen and the deer for the county, both taken from the Town and County Bank.
