Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted on July 5, 1946.

The arms were based on the arms of the medieval Zielemp family. They had in the 14^th century many possessions in and around the village since the middle of the 14^th century. The arms of the family were silver and blue, to distinguish the municipal arms it was decided to use gold instead of the silver.
