SÃO JOÃO DAS DUAS PONTES

State : São Paulo

Coat of arms (crest) of São João das Duas Pontes
Official blazon
Portuguese blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on September 18, 1985.

The Paschal Lamb is the attribute of St. John the Baptist and so is a canting symbol, the two crosses represent the cross erected when the village was founded and the first church built later in the same place. The bridge alludes to the two bridges built near the city without which the development of the city would not be possible.

The supporters show that coffee and cotton are important agricultural products of the region.

The shield is surmounted by a mural crown appropriate to a city and a scroll below the shield bears the name of the city.
