SAINT JOSEPH’S ACADEMY

Country: United States
Campus/location : Saint Paul, Minnesota

Coat of arms (crest) of Saint Joseph’s Academy

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The coat-of-arms of St. Joseph's Academy is a shield with silver lilies on an azure background upon which is an open book a sword in gold. Azure typifies success and good fortune in all undertakings.

The lilies, symbols of St. Joseph, stand for both the name of the Academy and the religious order by which it is taught. The book signifies learning; the sword represents the great apostle, St. Paul, for whom the city is named. Printed on the open book is the Academy motto, SUBOLES DOCTRINAE PIETAS, appropriately translated, Reverence, Scion of Scholarship.
