Official blazon

Arms : Azure, a ship's mast with derricks and the sail furled proper, the pennon flying to the dexter gules, surmounted below the sail of a pair of scales Or, in the dexter pan three piles of coin proper, and in the sinister pan as many bales of sugar also proper.
Crest: On a wreath Or and azure, A lion sejant guardant gules between two sugar canes proper, resting the dexter fore­ paw upon a sugar beet also proper.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on September 12, 1958.
