State : São Paulo

Arms of Suzanápolis

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on May 21, 1993.

The bull's head symbolizes hard work and also cattle breeding, the stars allude to the dream of the settlers of a bright future to the city, the wavy base represents the Sao Jose dos Dourados river at which banks lays the city and the chief evokes Suzana, wife of the founder of the village, whose name was taken (Suzanapolis = City of Suzana), the lozenges have the form of the female's shield.

The supporters show that corn and oranges are important agricultural products of the region.

The shield is surmounted by a mural crown appropriate to a city and a scroll below the shield bears the name of the city.
