Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on September 14, 1970 and again on October 1, 1991.
Tremelo became a separate municipality only in 1837 and thus had no older seals or arms. The village historically was part of Werchter and both villages were part of the Land van Rotselaar region. The arms thus show the arms of Rotselaar with the three demi fleur-de-lys.
The arms are placed in front of Pater Damiaan, since 2009 Saint Damien of Molokaʻi, who worked among the lepers on the island of Moloka'i in Hawaii. He was born in Tremelo.
