History:Formed at St Athan on August 26, 1963.

Official blazon

In front of an open book azure/Or/argent a dragon rampant grasping with the dexter claw a sword argent hilted Or.
Motto: Ar esgyll dysg

Origin/meaning

The Book Symbolises learning, the Dragon is a Symbol of Wales, the Sword is indicative that many Squadron members later will join the Fighting Services. The Motto translates as "On the wings of learning". The Badge was granted in July 1965.
