VP-16 WAR EAGLES, US NAVY

History: Formed in 1946 as VP-906, VP-ML-56: 15 November 1946-February 1950, VP-741: 1 May 1951-4 February 1953 (A reserve Squadron activated for the Korean War), and from 4 February 1953 VP-16. This was the third use of the VP-16 designation.

Homeport: NAS Jacksonville, Florida
