Official blazon

  • (af) Deursnede, na die skildvoet geknobbel van silwer en groen, in die skildhoof die chemiese simbool vir yster, van rooi, en in die skildvoet 'n silwer halwe klawerrat.
  • (en) Per fess nowy to base Argent and Vert, in chief the chemical symbol for iron, Gules, and in base a demi-cogwheel trefly, Argent.

Origin/meaning

The College is Situated in an Industrial Area mainly concerned with the production of Iron and Steel, hence the use of the Old Chemical Symbol for Iron in the upper part of the Shield. The Demi cogwheel trefly is the Symbol common to all Technical Colleges. The arms were officially granted on October 12, 1984.
