VÝSLUNÍ
Province: Ústecký Kraj
District (Okres) : Chomutov
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
This mining settlement probably developed at the end of the 14th century. In 1562 the owner, Bohuslav Felix of Lobkovice, promoted the village to the status of a Town. On June 2, 1597 Vysluni started using the title "Royal Mining Town".
The arms originally showed in the upper half a miner and in the lower a sun above a mountain. This is derived from the German name of the town, Sonnenberg (Sun-mountain). In the current form the miner is replaced by a lion holding miner's tools.
Seal from around 1900. |
