Official blazon
Shield: Per fess nebuly azure and argent and per cheveron counterchanged, in chief a pair of wings elevated and displayed or.
Crest: On a wreath of the colors, argent and azure, issuant from a wreath of rince and palm vert tied of the second a demi-dragon gules.
Motto: Vigilantia Aeterna (Eternal Vigilance).
Origin/meaning
The nebuly division line alluds to the Sky. The Triangular wedge rising above the line stands for Mount Rainier, a main sight from Fort Lewis, Washington where the Unit was activated. The wings alludes to the Aviation funtion. The Crest symbolises participation in the Vietnam War, the Rice symbolises award of the Republic of Vietnam Civil Action Honor Medal, First Class. The Palm symbolises award of the Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm.
