History: Established as Air Transport Command on 30 April 1942. Assigned directly to Army Air Forces. redesignated I Troop Carrier Command in July 1942. Trained Troop Carrier Organizations and Personnel. Disbanded on 4 November 1945.

Origin/meaning
The Insigne was approved as 21 October 1942.
