Official blazon

Shield: Azure (Cobalt Blue),a saltire Or, overall a dragon rampant Vert breathing flames Proper.
Crest: That for the regiments and separate battalions of the Kentucky Army National Guard: From a wreath Or and Azure (Cobalt Blue) within a garland of trumpet vine clasped hands clothed at the wrists all Proper.
Motto: Stabilis Victoria (Support the Victory).

Distinctive Unit Insignia, Description: A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Azure (Cobalt Blue), a saltire Or, overall a dragon rampant Vert breathing flames Proper. Across the bottom is a Dark blue scroll doubled and inscribed with "STABILIS VICTORIA" in Gold letters.

Origin/meaning

The Dark Blue colour symbolises the Kentucky Soldiers that fought on the Union Side in the US Civil War, and the Saltire those who fougth on the Confederate Side. The Dragon breathing fire symbolises Chemical Warfare.

The Coat of Arms and Distinctive Unit Insignia, was both approved on 15 August 2002.
