Das Wappen zeigt unter einem silbernen Schildhaupt, darin zwei gestürzte rote Spitzen, in Grün eine männliche Halbfigur mit silbernem Gewand, Bart und Haaren, in der Rechten einen goldenen Schlüssel, in der Linken einen goldenen Kreuzstab haltend.

Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted on April 9, 2002.

The lower half is taken from the arms of Günthersleben, the upper part is derived from the arms of the former Lords of Wechmar. At the same time the chief also forms a letter W for Wechmar.
